The main purpose of the department is to organize educational, methodological and research work in the field of social and humanitarian disciplines
The department sees its mission in the implementation of activities that contribute to the training of highly qualified specialists in the field of technical and economic direction through the teaching of socio-humanitarian, linguistic and legal disciplines using modern teaching technologies.
The teaching staff of the department actively participates in scientific, pedagogical, educational, and social work.
The department carries out its activities in accordance with the approved annual work plan in the following areas:
– educational and methodological support of the educational process;
– organizational and methodological work;
– research work of the teaching staff;
– research work of students;
– educational work.
The realization of the goal set for the department is achieved by solving a number of strategic tasks:
- high-quality lectures, practical (seminar) and other types of training sessions; organization and management of independent work of undergraduate and graduate students; monitoring the educational work of students, determining its results;
- preparation of textbooks, teaching aids, lecture notes, methodological literature and educational and practical publications on the profile of the department;
- conducting research work; directing the research work of students and discussing ready-made research papers;
- organization and holding of various types of training sessions (lectures, seminars, practical classes, etc.) in the disciplines assigned to the department;
- ensuring continuous improvement of learning technology, the quality of various types of classes based on the intensification of the educational process, the use of active and interactive forms of learning, computer information technologies;
- monitoring the knowledge of students enrolled in bachelor's and master's degree programs in the form of current, preliminary and intermediate certification, analyzing the results;
- organization and implementation of mutual visits of training sessions by teachers, pedagogical control of training sessions in the disciplines of the department, conducting open classes and their discussion;
- development and improvement of work programs, syllabuses, methodological guidelines for preparing for practical (seminar) classes, methodological guidelines for organizing independent work of students;
- ensuring the participation of the teaching staff of the department in the preparation of publications in journals recommended by the Committee for Control in the Field of Education and Science and other scientific publications with an impact factor;
- organization of research work of students and undergraduates, including: functioning of a scientific circle, preparation of research and competitive works, scientific publications, including in collaboration with teaching staff of the department; participation in competitive and scientific-practical events of various levels;
- organization of professional development of teachers of the department;
- implementation of educational work with students, contributing to their civic, professional and moral development;
The teachers of the department keep records of the types of work carried out (educational, methodological, scientific), the results of which are reflected in the individual work plans of teachers and relevant monitoring.
Educational and methodological work of the department
The department trains students in all bachelor's and master's degree programs in socio-humanitarian, legal and linguistic disciplines.
The Department of Social and Humanitarian Disciplines actively conducts educational and methodological work aimed at improving the quality of the educational process and developing students' professional competencies. Teachers of the department regularly update curricula, teaching aids and teaching materials, taking into account modern requirements and trends in the field of social sciences and humanities.
Much attention is paid to the introduction of innovative teaching methods, the development of independent work skills and critical thinking among students. As part of the educational and methodological work, seminars, trainings and master classes are organized that help teachers improve their skills and master new pedagogical technologies.
The department also actively cooperates with other educational institutions and scientific organizations, which contributes to the exchange of experience and the development of interdisciplinary approaches in teaching. The teaching staff of the department is actively engaged in the development and preparation of educational methodological complexes in the disciplines taught, educational and teaching aids, guidelines and developments. So, in the 2023-2024 academic year, the teaching staff prepared 3 teaching aids in the disciplines of Kazakh language, Russian language, English language.

The department trains undergraduate and graduate students in socio-humanitarian, legal and linguistic disciplines.
According to the educational programs of the Bachelor's degree:

-Module of socio-political knowledge: (sociology, political science, cultural studies, psychology);
- Module of economic, legal and environmental knowledge (Section Fundamentals of law and anti-corruption culture);
- Business law;
- Kazakh language;
- Russian language;
- Foreign (English) language;
- Business foreign (English) language;
- Physical education;
According to the educational programs of the Master's degree:
- History and philosophy of science;
- Management psychology;
- Higher school pedagogy;
- Foreign language (professional).
Scientific activity
The teaching staff of the department annually takes an active part in scientific, methodological, scientific and practical conferences, seminars and other scientific and methodological events held in the Republic of Kazakhstan and abroad, where they successfully exchange knowledge and experience, study new technologies, because acquaintance with promising scientific research is a process necessary for everyone a modern teacher.
The Department of Social and Humanitarian Disciplines conducts active scientific work, which covers a wide range of research in the field of social and humanitarian sciences. Teachers and staff of the department participate in scientific projects, publish articles in peer—reviewed journals, and make presentations at conferences of various levels - from regional to international.
One of the priority areas of scientific activity is the study of topical problems of society, culture and education, as well as interdisciplinary issues affecting the humanitarian sphere. The teachers of the department actively involve students in scientific work, involving them in participation in research projects, research competitions and student conferences.
The department also has scientific seminars and discussion clubs where current trends and challenges in the humanities are discussed. This contributes to the development of the scientific potential of both teachers and students, strengthening the research culture and stimulating the further development of scientific thought. The teaching staff systematically carries out research work: reviewing articles, monographs, curricula, textbooks, teaching aids, abstracts of dissertations, educational and methodological complexes. One of the activities of the department is the organization of research work of students who, under the guidance of the faculty of the department, annually participate in the Republican competition of scientific works of students, International and Republican scientific and scientific conferences. Students of the 1st and 2nd courses have repeatedly won prizes under the guidance of the faculty of the department in university Olympiads and research competitions among students.
Traditionally, the department holds subject Olympiads and ensures the participation of students in city and national competitions of scientific papers.
The main tasks of scientific activity for 2024-2029
1. The development of scientific research of the department within the framework of priority areas of science related to the specifics of the fixed disciplines.
2. Formation of proposals for the development of public policy adequate to the needs of an innovative socially oriented economy: development of conceptual approaches to solving urgent problems of social sciences and humanities, problems of globalization, integration as a form of accumulation of a foreign student – a representative of the multiethnic educational environment of the university, the image of a modern teacher, multilingualism – a reflection of the globalization of education;
3. Development of conceptual foundations for the participation of education in the formation of the civic position of university students and the younger generation of the Republic of Kazakhstan in countering the ideology of terrorism, extremism, corruption.
4. Involvement of students in scientific activities in the form of participation in scientific student circles of the department, the university and the work of the department.
5. Activation of the faculty of the department to participate in the work on scientific projects and grant funding and publication of scientific articles in publications recommended by the Committee for Quality Assurance in Science and Higher Education of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhsta and publications indexed in the Scopus database, Web of science.
The material and technical base of the department
The department has educational (specialized) classrooms (10 classrooms in total) equipped with modern technical teaching tools, including specialized classrooms for studying the state language, foreign languages, history of Kazakhstan, philosophy, socio-political disciplines.
